Context In an increasingly uncertain world, end-to-end mastery of our materials is a duty. Material is a key lever to reduce our environmental impacts. At DECATHLON, sourcing, qualifying, and deploying our materials with the goal of ensuring sovereignty in their use is a priority. Our goal is to innovate and deliver the most environmentally friendly PVC solutions with the best value-to-affordability ratio, ensuring that 100% of the PVC used at DECATHLON is responsibly sourced. Missions As PVC Material Engineer in charge of the Footwear perimeter, your mission will focus on the Circular PVC strategy and developing responsible solutions for this perimeter. With true project management and leadership skills, you will be responsible for: Defining and leading the post-consumer recycling strategy for the PVC BU to close the loop on our products. Writing technical specifications and material requirement files for PVC and recycled alternatives. Ensuring validation and characterization plans, including mechanical, performance, and durability testing. Building the material catalog to strategically scale and optimize our global material offer by integrating higher-performance, sustainable and cost-effective PVC solutions. Collaborating with internal and external experts to succeed.

Profile You are autonomous and proactive, enabling you to take on leadership roles on technical projects. Tackling challenges and taking responsibility with dynamism drives you. You enjoy working in project mode within a cross-functional and international environment to promote cooperation. You are able to understand and learn technical characterization. You are familiar with industrial processes. You have a strong interest or prior knowledge in recycling technologies. You are comfortable speaking and writing in English to unite teams around your projects. You hold an Engineering degree in Materials Science.
